Greetings everyone. I just joined the forum and, as suggested, here is a little info about me. I grew up fishing for bass in the farm ponds of Oklahoma. I've lived in Portland for nine years and picked up a flyrod for the first time a few years ago. I've always loved to fish, but fishing for pacific salmon, steelhead and wild redsides on the fly has made me a true fanatic. This is fishing at its finest. I have found a lifelong passion, something that will continue to challenge, amaze and delight me until I die. I caught my first steelhead on a fly last summer (3 total) and I haven't picked up my spinning or casting rod since summer 2001. I mostly fish the Clackamas, Sandy, and Deschutes. I look forward to talking with all of you, learning more about fishing this great state of ours and passing on whatever insight and knowledge I have gained.

I hope I haven't rambled on too much.
Cheers and Happy Fishing!

Welcome aboard! They say that you need to contribute a story about a personal fishing (preferably fly-fishing) experience especially since you are brand spankin' new to the ifish board.

I don't think that anyone has contributed a first story to the "Ifish flies and lies forum." You'd be the first if you so choose.
