where to go for steelies?

I just got a new fly rod and I was wondering where I should go to get steelhead. If you guys had any input that'd be great! :shrug:

If you're in Beaver-country, I would suggest the Santiam. My cousin in Springfield fishes the Santiam & Willamette religiously. He always seems to be telling me of the many many fish he catches... :hoboy: Maybe? Maybe not. Sounds like you just got your gear, for winter fish, I'd ask the tackle shop on the hwy right over the river (? can't remember name. help me some one.)

If you are in beav country fish the Alsea. Santiam is a great SUMMER fishery, the A is a great cold month fish. good luck. Dead drift, if you are fresh, much more productive. Once you get comfortable seek out larger rivers and swing flies. Snap-T
