What a great find, if you've not read this, its well worth the time to see how it all looked in 1653. Alluding to another thread, we'd all learn alot more from Izaak than from any issue of Hunting & Fishing News.

It's a great book. I also have a copy converted to the Palm os 'doc' format on my home page for those who use such devices.

There are also some other things for palms there, including a leader formula database and other fishing palm docs.

There's even a Southern Oregon hatch chart in excel that you might help me with (it's always under construction...)

Izaak Walton and Charles Cotton's classic "Compleat Angler." I mention it here, because, while Walton was a bait man (with a fondness for maggots), Cotton set the 17th century standard for "fishing for Trout and Grayling on a clear stream," with over sixty flies described.

Enjoy.
