View Full Version : t-8 tim and tilt not working

this past summer my trim and tilt stopped working it goes down but not up I checked the fluid it was ok, I pulled the unit off and put it in a vice if you hook it up to a battery it works pulls very hard cannot hold it out when it goes down but if you try raising it as soon as any pressure is applied to stop cyl movement it stops. any ideas .

yes they are but I dont know where to start, should I pull it apart and look at the stator or hyd side.

You will probably be looking at the motor side , a few guys cleaned them up and got a few more lifts out of them but eventually it had to be replaced ... Barney
