mine are cracked im trying to source some new ones anybody know if they are available?

no pics they are alumaweld factory oars they look like they are carlise made maybe? they have a wooden handle with a rivet thru the aluminum the wood handle would be male aluminum shaft female not sure if they are even replaceable but thaught i would give it a shot
i think i found some cataract inserts that will work for me

All I could find were the cataract inserts also ...
But another option could be to talk to a High School wood shop teacher and see if He could make a lathe duplication project out of them ...:idea:

Try Sawyer. There website has a lot of two piece models.

It has been a few years since I had that exact problem, but I got the wood inserts for the Alumaweld oars at Stevens marine, an Alumaweld dealer. Try there.

yeah i think thats a good idea gotta go in there next week for new seat webbing and turnbuckle thanks for the tip

parts guy at stevens said they havent carried them for a long time so gonna try to bear with them until i can order some cataracts next month i guess

I replaced my wood handles with carlyle (sp??) handles from Andy and Bax. Nothing worse than pulling hard and popping off the wood handle. Good luck, Billy

It is quite easy to turn new ones on a lathe. In past years we made many aluminum oars with wooden inserts. Takes about a half hour and good hardwood is availabe, use oak or ash if possible.
