Technique: From the bank I located a stump or log about 15 ft deep 20ft away from the bank. Rolled my lure over it over and over. 5th time was the charm. I felt the bite all the way into my elbow and I whipped my rod as hard as I could. Oh no my line peeled so I crank the drag to its max and banked the one. A few pic and I released her and left satisfied.
Rod: 7 ft Wright & Mcgill 3 pc medium fast action.
Reel: New Shimano Curado 201E7
Line:14lb original Stren
Lure:3/8 black n blue jig n craw
Location: Secret spot inside Portland

haha yup. Where are the dorsal tines? They certainly can't lay down that low.... Another tip: Zoom to about 500%, hit the blend tool, select the fuzzy edge and run it down to it's min brush size. Set the rate and opacity both to about 20%, and sweep it back and forth along the edges of the fish to dull the contrast... :flowered: Other than that, looks good! Nice catch!

Yep. That was a good one too that I lost. I really paid for it for using my steelhead setup for bass. That fish ran my line deep down, tangle me up, and broke off. No more 10lb test unless I'm fishing open water. GL to all

Don't be afraid to go out and fish in this weather. I usually watch the forecast and with a couple nights of overnight low in the mid 40's I head out and fish the deeper end of ponds. I have caught several fish during mid February in the past. GL
