I decided it was time to get started on a new stick for my lady. We decided on a 9ft 9wt Rainshadow.
She wanted pink and blue wraps and after many trial and error attempts, I came up with this. What do you think? It's Pink with lt. blue trim bands and white inlay.
I turned the grip myself, a little undersize to fit her hand and used a Batson reel seat. I'm going to use black single foot wire guides and a single double foot stripper.

The ONLY real question is "Does she like it?" Since color choice is totally personal and it will be her rod.
Is that reel seat and handle already glued down? Or just in place to show for now.

I'd use two double foot strippers and a note on the black wire guides the line will wear the black off - no big deal just know it will happen.

I think your wrap looks great - nice job on the inlay. Cork also.

Looks very nice. However, I have never seen a 9wt without a fighting butt. Any reasoning behind that?

Actually, now that I look at the picture again, I am guessing that is what is being held in the V... Nevermind me, just passing through.

Thanks for the heads up Stickfish. I know the black will wear off, but that's what she wanted, so I'll go with it.
I will be putting a fighting but on, just havent added it yet. The grip and seat are already glued in place.

I wish I would have known you were doing this rod for your wife. I would have sent up a set of Tic guides for free. Nice work and good job! I am leaving country for a year and am downing my stock. Re wrap ???? *laugh* kidding.

It looks great.

It looks nice, real crisp and clean. I hope she likes it.
