I bought used seahawk a couple of years ago I have never been happy with the height at which they mounted the shifter. It seems to me that I can just unbolt it and move it down 4 or 5 inches plenty of room to do that is it that simple or are there other factors I am not seeing that should be considered such as adjustments and what not. Oh forgot to mention it is a honda 150 2004

Should not matter as long as the cables are not in a bind when you finish ...
What type of throttle control are you moving and is mounted on a plate or bracket ?...

Remove the attachment plate and leave the shifter attached ...
You will have to remove the cables from the shifter and probably get a new mounting plate , unless you could flip the plate upside down and make it work ...
Use the old plate for your thru hole template ...
Pay close attention how many threads you have outside the locknuts and reassembly will go quicker ...
Check shifting and throttle operations after moving and final adjustments , and then remount plate ...
Also remember that you will probably not be seated 100% of the time and do not make it too low to access when standing at the helm ...
Good luck ... Barney
