Today at noon a horrible thing happened here at our home. Our one year old grandson climbed onto our totally mellow and totally loving male black lab named Duke. Our grandson has done this before and had done it numerous times already this weekend. Something must have been different this time and Duke snapped and bit our grandson in the top of the head.
This is an amazingly loving dog who want to be in your lap and is very happy to lay at your feet. He is somewhere between 8-9 years old...we don't remember. He is a purebred but has been fixed.
I am planning on putting this dog down but thought maybe somebody needs a great dog. Very obedient, sit, stay, come, heal, fetch, loves the water...typical lab...we just can't justify the risk.
