Impeller on the big motor

Picked up a new thermostat for the '92 Merc 50 the other day and said why not get the impeller while I'm at it. I know a lot of guys religiously replace the impeller on the kicker every year. What about on the big motor though? Good stream coming from the indicator and never an overheat warning.

Sad to say, it will never fail on you when you are within 10' of a dock.:) It's a simple enough change-out and should be done with some regularity. I try to do mine every 500 hrs or every other year.As far as he pee-hole indicator is concerned, you could still have a weak pump and have water coming out. It's really cheap insurance.
