No hatchery steelhead since ~96 although the occasional wayward Santiam fish does show up. 100K salmon plants done each year though, however, I've never found 'em. The river is stocked with trout above Molalla, but not too heavily in recent years, info should be available from ODFW. Sea-run cutthroat are rare but there. For trout stick to the upper river, two bridges above Mo-town where the camp sites are. Lots of power-baiters in the Summer.

Oh, and I would imagine that the smallmouth are confined to the lower river below the Pudding confluence down to the mouth. Short section, hard to get to, good fishing.

I have taken a few small mouth out of the Mo river around knights bridge. I also took one from the camby park on my flie rode last year. Knights bridge has great room for back cast if you don't hook the sun bather. HAHAHA!

What can you catch on a fly in the Mollala over the next couple of months? I have heard that there are no hatchery runs of salmon or steelhead anymore. Are there any trout or smallmouth?
