I had heard so many great things about the clouser minnow that I just had to try one out. So I tied up 3 and headed to vernonia lake. WOWSERS! that is one good fly! took bass and lots of crappie. I think I need some bigger sizes! Very easy to tie. Instructions on Flyanglersonline.com

If I had one fly to fish all over the world, that would be it (even thought it is a jig!).

try blending in colors of bucktail, flash, and synthetics. and keep it sparse. it rules

Well, Floatnfish, Im glad to see someone else knows of this pattern. I can count on one hand the times a fly really was a revelation! This is one for sure! And easy to tie! I hope some others find as I did!

Most memorable was the day when having some Clousers saved the day for us on the Bow River. I wouldn't say we hammered them, but without Clousers we may not have caught a trout (and this was a guided trip!).

So, on a tough day they really made the difference, we caught a number of 18"-20+" fish including a Brown of nearly 24" which remains my lifetime best.

I wonder how they would do on those Mann Lake 'cutts - maybe you could get some of the rumored big ones?
