I am heading to the upper deschutes next week, a belated memorial day outing. And was wondering how the fishing was up there, and what hatches are going on? Would like to see if I should stop off and get more stuff....oh, let's be honest, I need more stuff.
thanks!

Dang I cross that river every day and don't stop to fish it very often. Can't offer much help other than to suggest you stop by SunRiver fly shop in the indutrial park (by the gas station) and get the skinny from them.

Thanks for the Sun River tip, I forgot about those guys.
As for the name G.O. I have been asked by some to give it up! But I will only trade it for Jennie@ifish.net, but I don't think that will happen.

Don't tell OTTER that I was up there 06/08/02 got there about 1400 Hrs did not try fly fishing , I had to stop at G.I.Joes in Bend to get some 4lb line for my wife, and as you might guess I saw a trout spinning rod that I just had to have ,so I wound up useing rooster tails 1/8 oz black with silver blade, Landed my limit of planters but only kept 4 was done by 1730 Hrs
Otter if you read this I didn't plan on being there it just happened.
Gus good luck.

Hey DAB,
No problem, sounds like you and your wife had a great day! I canged out my prop and installed "doel finns" on my outboard, should perform better at the elevation here. What part of the big river were you on? I may head out this afternoon with the family.

The wife and I had a great time. We were about 1.2 miles up river from Pringle Falls. on the west side. It looks like the west side is heavly fished. Does that section hold many nate's (rainbow or browns) some of those areas with the timber in the water looks like good Brown trout water. All the fish that I caught Sat. were fin cliped.
