I have a 88 merc 75 and when I pump the ball I get a major fuel leak coming from the carbs. Any ideas? Any suggestions for an outboard tech?

Does the carb ever stop taking fuel? I am wondering if you have float stuck in the down position? Can you isolate the flow of fuel to a certain area? Last but not least....In what city are you seeking a mechanic? I am sure someone out there in Ifish land can recommend a good place to take it in a city near you...

Is it coming from inside or outside the carbs? If the motor hasn't been used for a while maybe the gaskets have dried up. If that's the case then they should swell back and seal after the gas has soaked into them.:twocents:

I guess that's what I would have said if someone was asking about a 2 stroke dirt bike. I still might want to get it gone over, any suggestions for Vancouver techs?
