Fished down from Warm Springs last Wednesday. The bugs and sun were out. The fish weren't. I don't know that I much care!

What a place ... burdens lift, spirits soar. It's a pleasure to be on the Deschutes in May!

Great photos. My fishing bud and I are heading over there Tues-Sat. Camping between Warm Springs and Trout Creek. We do this every year and can't wait. Especially after seeing your photos. The older we get, the more stuff we take--need a bigger Willie!

I just enjoy the time on the river. Catchng trout is a bonus.

Fished it Sunday and MOnday and the action was HOT for me, the 3 other gentlemen in my party did not fair well. I caught multiple rainbows the smallest being 12 inches the largest 19. Caught a 7 lb white fish to boot!

Nice photos Pete. The scene was just as nice yesterday (Sunday, 6/9). This was my first trip to Mecca Flats. What a sweet spot.

I got into a zone in the afternoon. Hooked 6, landed five - all above 13", 3 landed over 15". Biggest probably 3 lbs around 17". What awesome fish. Just peeled me. All taken on a bead head nymph (pheasant tail and prince) on a dropper below a Elk Hair caddis.

Earlier in the day, above Warm Springs, I lost one that would have gone 20". Ended the day with a nice 12" taken on a dry (Elk Hair Caddis).

Fish were not keyed in on the salmonflies - though plenty in the bushes, especially above Warm Springs.

All in all, one of my better days on the Deschutes.
