Anyone have any guesses as to when the roads to the lake will be plowed this year? There's been a little more snow than last year. I'm itchin' for a fix!

The road block at the intercetion of S. Century Drive and Burgess road was removed last weeked so I am assuming that the road past Davis is open. As for the roads heading into the lake I have no idea.

Just heard from a friend that the road down to the lava flow is open.

Which high lakes are you talking about?

Also, I read a report that the lake was really low. What kind of fishing at Davis this time of year does that mean? Is it worth the 3-hour drive?

I was referring to the road that leads to the laval flow on Davis lake.
Davis is still low, from what I have heard, from last year, but with the start of the snow melt it may fill this year.
Large trout are to be found as is some very nice sized bass.

Heard this morning that there is no access to Hosmer or Elk yet, but Crane, Twins, Lava, Davis, Wickiup are all ready to go. However, if it's Davis you are wanting to fish, I wouldn't come just yet. Stay in Portland and catch a springer or two, and then come over in a couple of weeks. Plus, if you can get from Portland to Davis in 3 hours, I need your directions cause it takes me close to an hour from Bend.

Thanks for the heads up, maybe I'll save the trip until Memorial Day since I'll already be in the area.
P.S.
From Bend you'll have to drive about three hours to Portland and then take I-5 south to Eugene. Then take Hwy 58 over the hills to the Odell/Davis area.

I'm holding off to Memorial Day, what will the water be like then?
