So I won a Ross Gunneson #2 a few years ago. Its just sitting in a box, Never had line on it. I need to match it up to a rod. Im thinking a nice 5 weight? Or maybe a 4. Ideas??

Depends on how much backing you want (and need) on the reel. You will probably be more comfortable with a four weight rod and a WF line. Does the reel come with information on its capacities?
According to the Ross website, the reel can hold a DT-4 line with 90 yards backing and a DT-5 line with 60 yards. I assume Ross means 20 lb backing.

I've got one on a Sage 905 SP. Perfect match for a 5 weight IMHO. I use 1.5's on my 4 weights. Backing capacity with the #2 has never been an issue, even in Alaska chasing 5+ pound trout.

I would go with a NorthXNorthwest rod they are only $99.99 with a lifetime warrantee. They are very sensitive and limp, but they do have a stong backbone.
For line I would get Cortland DT (double taper) for $23.99, because after you get good use off of the one side turn it over and use it the other way. That way you get 2 uses out of it.

yep, Northxnorthwest 3/4.A good deal at 100.00 w/ wt forward line.
I have two of those rods and they really cast well. It's mo favorite rod on the crooked river.
