Some friends and I are planning a trip during our college spring break(March 22-28) and was wondering if any of you guys had any suggestions for where we could get into some fish during late March. I've already been thinking about Mann Lake if the water is good. Any other suggestions would be a great help. Thanks

Well we're leaving from Corvallis, but we're pretty much open to anywhere in the state.

Mann Lake has been badly impacted by the illegal introduction of goldfish. Guys were illegally using them as live bait and now the lake has been overtaken by them. Chances are good that ODFW will either poison the lake or pump it down to eliminate them with in a year or so. They got rid of the goldfish that were impacting Chickahominy a couple of years ago when they were working on the dam and the lake has really rebounded. That being said, late March is a pretty good time catch big steelhead on the coast...

A few questions from a fellow OSU guy (go beavs)

1. What type of fish do you wanna catch?

1b. what type of gear do you have to catch those fish.

2. How many days (I think the most ive ever squeazed out was 10 with a favorable finals schedule)

3. How much money do you want to spend (camping or hotels)/where do you have connections.

4. Is everyone dawn to dusk fisherman or are you going to be mixing in some social drinking and the log throwing contests that usually follow.

5. where did you grow up (assuming you might want to stay away from this area and explore new places)

I you can sit down with your buddies and talk about the answers to those questions it will help. Also if you answer those on here the guys would probably be able to give you some more specific answers.

Hope that helped.
