I'm planning a trip to the Oly. peninsula this year. Would greatly appreciate any suggestions for lakes. I fish out of a pram, target big fish with small (midge) flies. Also - any suggestions for RV camps close by to park my trailer?

blapaze,
Pass Lake on Fidalgo Island is fly fishing only and a nice spot to wet a line. It's just past Deception Pass on the way to Anacortes from Whidbey Island. Not exactly the OP, but it's a nice spot to fish. There was also a great article on fly fishing the nearshore saltwater for searuns, coho, and blackmouths in last quarters (Fall) Salmon and Steelhead Journal. There's probably some great spots up in the Olympic Park, but I can't put my finger on any specific one. You might wan to check with the guys on the Piscatorial Pursuits or steelheader.net boards as they are more based in Washington.
Welcome to ifish!

One of my all time favorites - Prices Lake. Prices lake sets near Cushman Reservoir, just west of hoodsport if I remember right. First a disclaimer, it's probably been 14 years since I've been there. Prices is a hike in access, but only approximately 1/4 to 1/2 mile off the adjacent logging road. You need some sort of floatation - it is a great float tube lake. I have taken a 6' pram into the lake, but you'll get a workout bringing it back up to the road. The nearest family oriented RV campground is Staircase at the national park.
It is one of the few lakes I've ever fished where you can catch rainbows, brooks, or cut's all in the same day. One of my all time favorite fishing memories came at Prices. It was early fall, and the stress level had been incredible. I took a day off to visit prices, and as was fairly typical, I was the only one on the lake. Late morning I'm fishing away, and the lake just begins to boil with a hatch coming off. I turn the tube to try the area behind me, and find a herd of elk had moved out onto the flat by the lake while I was fishing... :meme: Just a simply great day that I'll never forget. Great fishing, great scenery, and normally uncrowded.

I'd pay a visit to Waters West Fly Shop in Port Angeles. I'm sure they'd know some good places. They stock some really excellent jumbo salmon/steelhead flies too.
