What are your thoughts will winter kill make the average trout smaller for next year:passout::pray: ...

That's a good question. I'm not sure, but I think last year was kind of a harsh year. Some of the trout I caught out of Wickiup looked a bit extra hungry. I don't know if it was weather related or if it's from the competition from the growing population of bass in the lake.
I don't think I answered your question though. I guess I'm kind of confused because winter kill to me means just that winter kill. I think the smaller weaker fish will probably die and the bigger fatter ones will survive. That's why I like fishing in the fall because I know fish are trying to eat as much as they can to fatten up for the winter. Whether the average trout will be smaller I don't know. It would be interesting to know the science behind it though.

I fish Mt Hood. ( Trillium Lake ). I normally fish the week before they stock it and I am normally the only one there maybe 5 people total on the lake. Normally it is slow fishing but when you get a fish you can tell and it will take a while to play them out. Really good size. ( Normally )
