I am headed over Santiam pass tomorrow and want to stop by Detroit for some bank fishing. I've never really fished there. Does anyone know of any spots or have any tips? Everyone else thinks I'm crazy for fishing in the snow and cold, but i figured I'm not the only one here that fishes in the snow.

Your best bets this time of year are
1. Where Tumble Creek enters the lake. There is a gravel pullout to park at.
2. Mongold Park. Go west along the bank until you get to deep water.
3. near the log boom at the dam on either side of the lake.

:agree: All of the spots that happybrew has given can be good for low-water Winter fishing. South Shore campground can be productive too but you have to cross over the bridge past Detroit to reach it. Below is a map that can help you find these areas. Good Luck!

Thanks guys....I ended up not making it due to the weather here in Salem. I'll make it up there one of these weekends.

Freezerboy... Were you ever able to make it out to Detroit? How was this fishing? I'm thinking about heading out that way but wanted to know if it's worth the gas. I'm out in the Canby area.
