yup, great advice.
since draining it is tough on many boats, here is something I did that works well for me:
install a t fitting with screw on cap upstream of the pump and strainer, T's are available in flush-n-fill kits or at auto parts stores. Easy to add RV antifreeze to the running pump w funnel at T and let it pump thru whole washdown system..

Thanks for the heads up. I have a new boat this year with a washdown and forgot that one on my winterizing checklist.

I took a plunger and put a hose connection in to it. It covers the highspeed pickup nicely, and I just jam the handle in the gravel to keep it in place, turn on the live well and washdown and pour some pink in the hose. Works like a charm for those that didn't think about a T in the hose. That would be much easier.

now you guys have me worried..i just turned on the pump ran my nozzle below the pump itself till it just was spittin air..we'll see i guess and now i have another mod to do after the thaw
