I have a 175 Mercury Sport Jet that I take out fishing every few weeks but with this nasty COLD weather coming and it being in my driveway, is there anywhere water may be hiding inside the motor that I need to drain or is everything on it self-draining?

Any other suggestions to keep it safe during times like this when temps drop so low and for extended periods?

I'm sure it's fine, but just want to be safe.

THANKS

You don't have anything to worry about Mr. Wilson. I have used mine and put it back onto the trailer many times below freezing. Haven't had any problems.

In fact other than taking out the battery for the winter, I have never done anything "special" on my boat for the cold weather.

Hope this helps..........

I have one also. You should be good to go. No special winterizing needed. If you do go out in the deep freeze be aware that the bucket will freeze and you will not be able to turn the steering wheel. This makes for tricky launch. Don't ask me how I know this. T

I know this to be true as well. But don't ask me how either!! :D

Obviously it was spray that froze while driving down the road.

If you happen to have a washdown pump, you may want to make sure the pump and hoses are drained.
