Has anyone ever tried making a home made troll? I have a tacklemaker being delivered tomorrow and thought it might be kind of fun to try....I was thinking about using larger size spin-n-glos for the flashers....

I have made many. Made most of them about 5-15 years ago. Got some stuff from Cabelas and Net Craft. I have lots of small willow blade and Colorado blade ones.

Yes, and your going to enjoy all the things you can do! Wish I could say I have caught fish with them. But I can't say I have given them a good soaking.

I've done a little of that just because ford fenders, etc are pretty expensive.
I think the last time I made them I came in around $2 apiece for the basic hardware, plus my time.
To me the real benefit is designing it your own way though, like you said!

Ive made up a few Spin & Glow flashers , some as long as 6ft. to attach to the ball on the D.R. I like to use the Berkley "Steelon Nylon Coated Wire" in 30 lb test. It is small in dia.- .026 & very flexible. I use the Berkley Wire Leader connectors to seperate the spinners ,blades & beads. Just crimp them flat with pliers.
I really like using the Spin & Glows because the combination of them with Beads is Endless.
I also went off the deep end & made some up with Bass Buzz bait components! I used the Alu. Blades with different colors of tape & some blades with the hollow center & Counter rotating blades in the center.
:meme: Kokonuts...I would post Picts if I could!
figure it out

I Haven't used them yet, but there is one line in the middle that trails behind with Gamakatsu's; It is said that, a Spoon, Apex, Hoochie does catch fish. but how far to set it back is another to play with.
