Would the new extended bracket on the 2009 duckworth models be on par with the Northriver bracket. I realize that "on par" is subjective. In short, All things considered is the offshore bracket system not one of the reasons to choose Northriver over duckworth now for 2009? The reason I am asking is that it seems from peoples posts that quality of offshore bracket design seems to be one of the largest concerns between manufacturers.

Looks burley! It would be interesting to see the internal supports that they reference, but it looks like a nice improvement to me.

Looks good just as long as it's not on par with the old style brackets of NR before they re made them. If not, invest in patience and bilge pumps:D

imo bracket must be properly designed for flotation, ride (2 to 4 deg "tilt"), trim tab placement, engine tilt, sealed but with decent access, drainplug access (preferabbly on both sides and or limber holes), seperate bilge pump for bracket, and good fab practices: no stress risers, proper transfer of loads.
