I am trying to get a ballpark idea of a boat remodel that I am considering.

The main thing that I am trying to determine is what a DIY cost for a remote to tiller conversion for a 98 Merc 150 Jet would be? From my little bit of research it looks like it could be anywhere from $350-$750. Has anyone done this conversion for this motor or knows what to expect for cost. What are the variables and the "oh and while you are doing that you might as well do this" things that come up in this process? I am considering doing the floor at the same time (console will be removed) but what else "makes sense to do" at the same time? (Fuel line/electrical will all be redone if the floor comes out)

I am looking at purchasing this boat and trying to get an idea of what to budget to make it into what I want. Just not sure if the purchase price and the remodel will pencil out to the best value for what I want right now.

Thanks for the input!

I've spent about $2500 so far, but I'm sure it could have been done cheaper. It's supprising what I've spent just on new stainless hardware.:passout:

My boss did something similar to his north river and found some good deals on e_bay. I don't think it cost him to much, you just have to look around and hope to score some good deals:twocents:
