This is a co workers hook setter. Anyone out there have others? I have made a couple but this one is proven many times. Can't say its much to look at. But the alarm is nice.

It is shown in the cocked position, and the hard part is adjusting the trigger not to soft so the waves set it off and not to hard so it dosent go off, this guy had one rod go across the road before figuring out how to hold on to it. No I don't think I would take any kids around them, dog is not good either, and the seating directly behind is not a good idea either. And how it works is Very good..

WOW! Just when I thought I've seen it all. That thing looks downright dangerous...I like it! What kind of fish we talkin about here, seems the ones I fish for all you'd end up with are a set of lips useing that contraption!

I remember in the 80's seeing a commercial for a contraption like that. It might come in handy but I'd rather set the hook myself.

It looks more like a homemade grenade launcher :)

And here is one that I have made untested, I can't find the time to sit on the bank! Hope this one helps explain how they work.

Whats the fun in that?
Might as well go buy some fish if your just in it for the meat.

My boss doesn't like it when I am working and holding my rod in my hand!

The fish doesn't land on the bank! Its very much like trolling, the fish sets the hook and you bring it in, it keeps the rod from being dragged into the water like so many have done. Indeed the hook set is the greatest but for still water fishing where the big ones are its far and few between, I cant hold it in my hand for Hours! And from what i see trolling very few others do either.

The Bank boys throw it out as far as they can, And the Trollers troll as close as they can! Wheres the Fish!
