My brother normally works hours that do not give him days off when I have mine. This coming week we both have a few days off at the same time and would like to spend a day fishing. We figured that we would try out Detroit again on Sat.
Any info on where and what would be appreciated. A buddy at work suggested an area called the Narrows. Said his son and him had good luck there for Koke's and Trout and Cat's at night. I'm not sure where legally the river stops and the lake starts.
Thanks
Jon

Hit the main North Santiam channel. From Mongold, head out to the opposite bank and motor up to the narrows. You'll know where the river stops because the lake is drawn down and you can only go up so far. Anchor, then cast worms with a split shot or two. We caught a ton two weeks ago like that. The launch is winter levels so wear waders! Good luck.

Remember, if you are fishing moving water in Detroit this time of year, you are a candidate for a citation!

Good luck!

Anybody notice the work they are doing at Detroit. New low water boat ramp. Some work on the docks also. at Mongold.

I took my wife and kids out there yesterday, I will be glad when the low water ramp, and dock are all done. It will make it a lot better to launch . Right now the current low water ramp runs out about 100 yards from the water, makes for a muddy launch and a exciting couple of minutes throwing mud and rocks all over your boat on the way out.
