I fished Pine Hollow Res yesterday with a couple of buddies... we had constant action all day under sunny skies - I ended up brining two trout home - one 19" the other a 23" slab - let a lot of smaller 8"-11" trout go... I was flyfishing but there were a few fella's on the bank using power bait on the bottom that were doing quite well too. My buddies had similar action - fried trout for breakfast today! YUM! :D

This sounds like a place I may have to check out this coming weekend. Are there any good spots here that you might recommend? I've never fished Pine Hollow Res. before.

I used my float tube - we put in at the boat ramp by the camp ground/trailer park. The guys fishing from the bank were all around the boat ramp. It was only my second time fishing there and the first was about 20 years ago... sorry I cant be more help. If you want a fun time trout fishing I would reccomend it tho... the guys on the bank were using the standard powerbait setup on the bottom. I was flyfishing - regardless of the method the trout seemed real eager to bite! There is plenty of bank to walk around the lake if you want to get away from people.
Good luck

At first I was using a seal bugger (wolly bugger) brown and burnt orange seemed to be the hotest color. Later in the day a midge hatch started coming off and the fish were keying on them so I switched to a size 12 black emerger... all the flies are wet flies used on intermediate sinking line... a dry line with a 12' -15' leader would probably work too...
Roads are good - we went though The Dalles to get there - do a google map, you go through Tygh Valley.
We are going back on Sunday...

Went back last Sunday and landed 3 over 18" - all big and fat enough to fillet! Let another 15 or so smaller fish go and lost 3 other brutes all on the fly. My two buddies got skunked this time tho. Caught all the fish flyfishing once again...

Went Sat, looked to be a boaters lake. Not much bank access with all the houses along the edge. Fished by the boat launch with no success. Will take the boat next time.
I did find a new area that I would like to retire to tho.

Went Sat. and only caught three small fish...but on the way out, I met up with a very nice guy, name of Gordon, who had nailed two very nice fish trolling needlefish lures. Before we parted company, he gave me the lowdown on how to fish Pine Hollow. Will be back again this weekend, properly armed, but it'll probably be my last time out this year, as I was laid off from my job yesterday.
