hey all,

Haven't been able to fish much but wanted to get out and try before the end of the season. I believe Hagg closes on the 23rd. Just wanted to see if there is a hot bite or should I save my gas. Thinking/Planning on heading out friday on the bank. Any info helps. Thanks in advance and PM welcomed.

if bank bound, be prepared to deal with mud. Lots of mud when the water is really low.

fished there this past sunday (11/16) and had plenty of luck out in the lake near scoggins creek. Didn't see the bank guys out there catch too many though.

Fished it twice in October and it was very good. Lots of surface activity late in the day. Mix of recent stockers and 12-15 inch fish.

if you can put up with the mud... you can pull out A LOT of fish.

fished with friends on Saturday, and we got 17 in 4 hours.. and then I limited out in an hour and a half this Tuesday.

The kid and I decided to close Hagg down this year, as it was a sunny day sunday. Disappointed that they closed it down at 4pm. The sun was still in my eyes driving home. Anyway, it was a bit slow. We caught 4 and lost 1 in 2 hours, all average size. Quite a crowd on the water and on the bank. Looking forward to spring. Anyone know if there are many holdover trout caught in March?

Kind of weather dependant. I've seen some guys @ the dam pulling out 15-18 inchers that early, and of course there's some of the big brooders ODFW plants in there. Sunny weather that gets the water warming can be like flipping on a light switch for them.

Looking forward to March myself...
