I've just about had it with the open pockets on the inside of my boat. Over this winter we will soon be in the rivers and no boat needed, I would like to make some enclosures for the open pockets on my boat. The pockets are currently about 6" deep and 4-5ft long. I would like to make sealed pockets out of it so that when I hose down the inside of the boat, or when the rain comes in sideways they contents will stay dry. Any supply houses around that have premade clear poly doors with latches??? I could go to a plastic shop and make some, but would like to have doors already made.
I also want to make a big pocket up in the bow of the boat for the anchor and the bouy. So I will be needing to make a compartment and sealed door up there also.
I used Tempress hatches on my remodel.

I have an old one of these in gray you could have free if you want. It's old and dirty, but free.

Hey RGB,
If nobody jumps on your hatch cover offer I would be real happy to hook up with you and take it off your hands.
I am rebuilding an old smoker crft and the hatch system on this boat is simply a piece of plywood with a finger hole in it.
I am not much into freebies though....If we could meet up along i5 someplace i would be happy to trade you a tuna loin for the hatch cover.

Gordy, jump on it if you can use it... I need a bigger hole for the bow to store my rope and anchor.
thanks for the links, I will have to give them a call. Id like something in maybe a clear door for the sides.
Gordy, I'm taking off hunting this week, but it's yours when I get back. I'll PM you early the next week to set up a time. Post some pic's of your project if you can. I would love to see it. I'm just finishing up a remodel of my old Smoker Craft sled. That is where the hatch is from. Look at this picture, you can see the new replacement up front.

Nice boat!!!
I really wanted to get my hands on a 16 foot sled for running the mouth of the toutle area but this boat fell into my lap so I am just gonna make do with it.
It has sat on a wheat field in WallaWalla for the past five years so there is a bit of an issue of mice, wasps nest and just plain dirt that I am dealing with.
Only one part of the boat fell off on the way back to Longview. Of course it is the corner bracket that holds the transom on so I am in search of a matching pair. I seem to be comming up short in the sucess department.
Good luck this week and I will be witing to hear from you.

Thank's. you might want to look into having someone just weld in new corner brackets. It shouldn't be to difficult.
