That's what I thought too. I'm pretty sure it's a koke. Maybe I should post it in the fish I.D. thread.

If it was a chinook, the meat would pe pasty white and flavorless.
I caught several noks out of green peter last summer and the meat was red and very tasty it was almost as red as the koks

deep forked tail=koke
but the mouth looks all wrong.... Id have to see inside the mouth. If its black, then its a Chinook.
Man, I was invited to go out at GP tomorrow but this nasty cold has me huggin the warmth of my fireplace. You guys have good luck tomorrow.

I have read that they spawn anywhere between 2 and 4 years of age. Typically it is after 3 years, but I think it depends on lake water temps and feed.

Went back today and caught two rainbows and two chinook(they have black mouths). The fish were there but I took a different approach. Fished the same area from the bank. Yesterday I fished from the bridge and caught more. Still a good day to be on the water.

Can't help but chime in on this one since this is my "home" lake. Fall River Guy is on the right track I believe, and so is Half Fast Toyn as far as the forked tail. The picture confuses me somewhat. When I first looked at it I felt the top 3 were rainbows, the 4th one down a chinook, and the bottom one a koke because of the forked tail. What doesn't add up to me is I have never seen a natural propagation of chinook in GP, only fin clipped fish. Also, I have never seen a fin clipped koke in GP because they are no longer planted. The picture may be deceiving and I would have to see the fish in order to properly identify it. Additionally, the 3 & 4 year kokes have spawned and are done for the year and next years spawners are being caught at this time and are running about 12 - 13" in length. Should make for some nice size mature kokes for next year. One last comment, I have yet to see a chinook with anything but white or very pale pink meat, so I believe the orange or red meated fish would be a koke. Irregardless, go fishin' and have fun.

The meat on the last fish was slightly pink and cooked up white. Didn't have much flavor either.
