If you have some pics i would like to see them, not the store bought stuff, prefer to see some homebuilt brackets.
Buying them is expensive and i can build them alot cheaper.

Thanks

More info below...Thanks

I've been meaning to post a pic for you of the one my buddy welded up for my Smokercraft sled. I'll try to remember tonight.

I think you should post some photos of your boat. And your post is a little
confusing. What model of smokercraft boat do you have. You need to give
us some information to go on..

Here you go. Nothing fancy, but it works great.

RGB, thanks, that gives me a direction to go.

Sorry about not including more info, I didn't give this alot of thought....

I've got a 15', side console Lodge model. 76" beam.
I already have a 40 hp on the back and was hoping to put my 7.5 on there, big motor trolls a little on the fast side. Do you think there is to much weight with both motors???

I'll take all the help I can get. I suppose I could dig out the paper work for the boat and see if it tells me anything.

Thanks for the input!

It's not to heavy on my boat, but mine has a 6' wide bottom with 115 & 6 hp two strokes. The only reason it need's the bracket is because of the hull extention. With the kicker mounted on the transom the lower unit hit's the extention.

RGB,
My big motor, (relatively speaking) is a 2 stroke but my kicker is a 4 stroke. You can pic it up by yourself, I'm guessing it weight's around 70 lbs.
The boats only 15' long, so i imagine it can't take the weight like your boat can.

I better check the weight specs.

Thanks

Mines only a 16 footer, so you should be fine. Just throw it on the transom, and go launch it to see how it floats. That doesn't sound like to much weight to me. Since you have a side console try to mount the kicker on the opposite side of where you drive from, that way it helps the balance of the boat while under way. I have my battery on the opposite side to balance the kicker.

Mounting on the other side is kinda what I had in mind, the only problem is my steering arm may hit the kicker...not sure. I'll have to play with it to find out.

You have 115 hp on a 16'er...that must be a rocket!

Thanks

I have a 16 foot Tracer that I sometimes use a kicker on the port side alongside the 40 hp 4 stroke main. I do not need a bracket for the kicker (6 hp Nissan 4 stroke-55 lbs) and use a steering connector from the main to the kicker. The main motor steering arm does not interfere with the kicker when connected-you just have to position the kicker correctly on the transom to be sure of the clearance. On the other side, I have my Minn Kota trolling motor that also can be linked to the main for steering if I wish.
The kicker is positioned far enough to the port that it is starting to go up the slope of the transom cutout. I just shim the kicker bracket on the starboard side to make it hang verticle.
