Spent the day out on Prineville Res. A beautiful day! Never been out there before, spent a lot of time just on a boat ride. We trolled for a bit and talked to a guy who had 9 on his stringer. He was trolling worms with Ford Fenders, 80 ft. back. I didn't have any worms, or a Ford fender. So for the rest of the afternoon, I stopped using the down rigger and flat lined a Blue Fox spinner behind a Shasta dodger 40-50 yards out. We caught 4 nice trout before it started getting dark. My wife picked up a real nice crappie as well.

so where are they biting?? we fished down by the damn with 2 oz. and 3/4 oz. a good 80ft out and for a good 2 hours on sunday (yesterday). I didnt see a single net go down? are fish hitting down by the big island or by the resort?..they sure didnt seem active at all by the new boat ramp?????:meme:

Thank you for the reply! Sounds like the bite was off at the damn and the mouth of bear creek. Good old big island. Have cought lots of fish around the island over the years. I like your red line map ..interesting.!!...

thanks again ...and best of luck next time you hit the water.

By the way is the ramp at the state park any better for launching?. we launched at powder cove and barely had enough water to float the boat. ??

Last year when they built the ramp at powder cove that ramp was 8-10 out of the water (Nov 07) and ramp at the state park still had at least one full section of ramp in the water. No problem with a boat of any size. So should be fine now if the new ramp is still slightly in the water.
