Has there been any changes or improvements in the last few years on the t8? I have a chance to buy a new in the crate 2005 t8 with full warranty from a local dealer for fairly good discount. Seems sort of strange he would still have a "old model" available.

If you go to the Yamaha webb page and go in to the tech pages. you may
be able to see if there has been any real changes to the T8 OB. But
I bet the only real changes are in the covers and color there of.
One more thing is it a high thrust or standard. the high thrust comes standard with
power start and trim but the standard is pull start. thats from what I can see from the
specs on the webb page.

'08's Standard 8hp's come with a toothed flywheel and the bracket for the starter from new...so its real easy to land a starter on one if you like. :meme: other than that I believe there twins. at least mine did I bought last month, dealer was surprised about that when we popped it out of the box.

All T series motors (Hi Thrust) have electric start...power tilt is an option.
F series motors, in the 8 HP config., are rope start only.
F9.9's are avaialable with electric start, but not power tilt. If you want power tilt on a Yamaha under 10 HP, you have to go to the T series
