fish-on-bend

Due to committments the rest of the month I wanted to get 1 last trip in at Crescent to chase the macks around. I talked to my friend Bob on Monday and we decided that Friday looked like a nice window in the weather. Ifisher Jimmy decided to meet us up there, he did an overnighter after checking the forecasts. We nailed the weather perfectly. We had fog in the early morning, and that burned off by mid-morning and the lake stayed perfectly flat all day. It was us, Jimmy and just 1 other boat all day. It was a slow start to the bite, the first fish didn't come till 10:30. It was a decent one, about 10 lbs.

Then Bob got his first mackinaw ever.

We managed 5 to the boat in 2 1/2 hours, all about 10lbs. Then the bite just quit. Saw lots of good size spawning kokanee around the ramp and the dam. About 6 fly fishermen were working the shore for the kokanee. I won't be able to get back till December so I will assume this was my last trip for the season...............but then again, who knows? You know what I mean?
An old guide I used to know at Tahoe said that , weather permitting, December was always his best month for macks on Tahoe.
