With salmon fishing turned against me thought I would return to my roots and pick up my trout gear. So last saturday we went to detroit to try our luck. To say it was good fishing would be a gross understatment. The bites came fast every cast. Two limits in about fourtyfive min. We threw back the smaller ones and came home with ten fish 10.5 to 13.5 in. long and very fat.Same thing on sunday only this time three limits and many more returned. that was a week ago. This week my wife said she would like to get into the fun. So off we went and boy did she have fun. On saturday we fished for about one hour and we limited with many returned fish. She had so much fun she wanted another shot at the fish. So we got there about 4pm. sun and in two hours we hooked around 50 fish. She was in hog heaven. We didn't keep any under 11" and ran up to 13.5". I lost three fish that were much larger but what great fun and the weather was perfect and we were the only ones fishing within our sight range. maybe with some rain the salmon will start treating me good agian but for now the trout are biting and they taste very good.

Believe it folks, Toothmaker speaks the truth. To quote the old Olympia Brewery groundskeeper, "I seen 'em!"

Thanks for the report, were ya banking it or boating? And if boating, how was the ramp? I was sleeping last week when I drove by:passout:

Ramp is high and dry. Mongold is where we put in and its 1/4 mile from the water to the parking lot. There is construction on the boat ramp and it appears they might be lengthening it. I fished last Monday and while I find it amusing to catch 10 inch trout..... its not a Chinook or a Tuna.
