fish-on-bend

I took Tom (rum runner) and friend Bob to Crescent today for a mack attack. It was Bob's 1st time mack fishing. I wasn't gonna fish this weekend but Waterfish said he was coming up for the weekend and a friend of his was also bringing his boat, then the weather forecast just kept getting better, ...........so enough pressure already, I gave in. Also saw 3 or 4 boats chasing kokanee with some success. They were all running willow blade lake trolls in 100 feet of water or so. Must be next years spawners?
As for us, Tom got a nice one 1/2 hour into our 1st run.

After that I lost 3 in a row, 1 was a very nice fish, we saw his air bubbles at the surface after he pulled off. I've never lost 3 macks in a row before, and on a new lure too. And that was it for us. We tried jigging for the last hour and the macks weren't too impressed with our jigs either. I just got off the phone with Waterfish, he's still on the water and they got a couple today and the biggest mack he's ever caught last night. While I was on the phone with him his buddy called on the VHF and was fighting a monster. Sounds like Waterfish's report on Monday will be much more exciting than mine. But any day on Crescent when the water stays flat all day and the sun shines like July is a keeper in my book.
So we wait for Waterfish's report. :lurk:
