Decided to take advantage of the great weather and give the Big C at least one more shot before the end of it all.

Launched out of Stevenson at about 9AM and fished until 4PM. Water temp showed 59-62 depending on where you were at.

West out of the ramp toward the Bridge of the Gods. Tried the marker outside of Rock Creek Cove and about every submerged island from there on down. Was working drops to about 20-30 feet of water. Tried several color patterns of wacky rigged senkos, jigging spoons (I was looking for some walleye action if at all possible) and trolled worm harnesses for a bit.

Only managed one on a worm harness. Still working on figuring out how to get more fish in my boat. I guess it's better than none in the boat which ocassionaly happens! :thisbig:

Couple of bass boats out there but didn't recognize anyone from here. One boat was working the heck out of a point that comes out just west of the boat launch.

Here is a photo of my "big" catch and my first mate who is a bit of a pain in the boat when there is a fish on board!

Any suggestions on how to get more bass and walleye in my boat are welcome :D I'm a catch and release only guy so I will put them back for you too!

This time of year they should be back up in the shallows and working actively. I would try lipless cranks and spinnerbaits in 1-10 feet. Give the points on the main river bank some special attention. If you go again, try the culverts going into Ash Lake. Fish the down current side with cranks. That current switches, depending on wheather they are holding back water or turning it loose at the dam. Might even fish Ash Lake itself.

Thanks for the info. I hope to get back out again  But not really sure at this point. I may turn my sites to Silver Lake for the "last" trip of the season. I did not go completely prepared last trip because I decided I was trolling worm harnesses and working jigging spoons based on some reading in In Fisherman magazine. I think I learned if you have a boat that will hold gear you might as well bring it all!

Here's to some clear weather and light winds for few more weeks! :D

Silver would be a good option this time of year. Don't wait too long though. Go now.
