This is probably in vane, but a bit over a month ago - around August 29th, I came home to find that my personal vehicle and house had been broken into. Among the items stollen was my backpack full of fishing tackle. ALL of my terminal tackle/flies/lures except for a few pieces.

A list - from memory - of all that was taken:

Coleman canvas daypack, oliveish-tan colored. Drawstring closure main compartment with flap and three satellite compartments, also flap closures. One of the brass snaps was broken on the main flap (corroded thru from saltwater fishing excursions on my honeymoon a year ago)

fly boxes containing close to 300 or so dries, nymphs, wets. Lots of small black marabou leeches/buggers - sizes 16-10 mostly, and most of those tied on dry fly hooks. Lots of elk-hair and deer hair caddis patterns, adams', yellow and royal humpies, and royal wulff flies made up the bulk of the dries. There were some bead-body buggers with black marabou tails on size 10-14 long shank hooks. A box full of bass bugs - a deer hair frog, a dalhberg diver in purple, one in green. Deer hair mice. Lots of foam bodied poppers, sliders, and divers. Long shang foam bodied crawfish. A number of small bluegill poppers in assorted colors.

There was a large plano box (the clear hinged lid type) with 50 or so rooster tail spinners, mostly around the 1/8 and 1/4 ounce size. All the treble hooks were clipped to a single hook point. There were also come blue-fox spinners and some steelhead-by-bud type spinners, smaller sizes. On the edge of that box was a strip of duct tape marked "Spinners"

There was another plano box with a duct tape strip marked "terminal tackle" - it contained my sliding floats, hooks, split shot, barrel and snap swivels, beads, some corkies, tooth picks, and jigs, and some crankbaits - rapalas mostly, with two micro sized crawfish cranks - one black & orange, the other fire-tiger pattern.

Another plano box was marked "Soft plastics" and contained an assortment of plastic worms and shad baits, along with my worm-hooks and jig heads. 60-70% of the baits were chartruse, with a few black and motor oil colored baits in there - all the worms were of the 4-5 inch variety. Finesse stuff mostly. The shad were 3 and 4 inch bodies - chartruse and white. There were also some white grub bodies with jigs.

A set of Maxima leader spools ranging from 2 to 30 lb test were held together on a lanyard string from my trout dipnet. I had some spare leaders tucked away. A nice set of pliars, a set of foreceps, and a set of clippers.

There was a good $400-500 worth of tackle in that bag. It was stollen from my home in the 2100 block of SE Bush St in Hillsboro. A police report was filed - but the police aren't taking the matter seriously.

If someone has purchased any of the above, or knows someone who has, please PM me. I can offer a modest reward for it's return. I've so far spent about $100 on replacement tackle - but $100 doesn't go far at all anymore - and it took me years to accumulate and fine tune my tackle selection. That backpack was chocked full of almost all of my tackle. I had one box of cruddy second-string rejects I'd tied up before, and a small box with some octapus hooks and corkies that didn't get stollen.

Also taken in the break in was a 3-4 inch tall ceramic fairy that was the center piece of my wife's china hutch display (her father gave it to her after his cancer fell into remission) and the garage door opener.

I posted ads on craigslist immediately after the theft, but nothing was ever found and no one contacted me about it. I know it's a long shot but what the hey - I'd love to get my stuff back. At this point I don't even care if they prosecute the punks that took it - I just want my stuff back.
