So Just started bass fishing, never thought fishing could be so hard, the stickin things are smart haha. last weekend we went to horseshoe lake in woodland and didnt do anygood with the bass but got some pretty big perch and a huge trout. Any lakes or rivers around with lots of bass for a beginner to learn easier or is it a trial and error type for fishing?

Best thing to do, is to catch a open seat with someone who is more experienced. It'll save you a lot of trial and error.

agreed, now can be a great time to learn. lots of big fish to be caught, but soon fishing will get hard with turn of winter. best of luck with the rest of the season, but try to get out on an open seat.
plus are you in northern or southern oregon? hagg is always good in the portland area, and tenmile further south

You are not far from a very good lake! Silver Lake is the place to try!
