Sam is a loveable dog, excellent with kids (they dress him) and super cute. He has a few traits that don't fit our lifestyle. IE: He will run away for many hours on end. He does come home. Our neighborhood is not such a place for a dog who roams. He likes food when he smells it and will do whatever it takes to get it unfortunately. He is crate trained and loyal.

We don't wish to just get rid of Sam. We want him to go to a home where he can be the hound he is. Chasing animals and having a splended time being a dog. I know you can appreciate that as a dog lover yourself. We got Sam from SW Washington Humaine Society 2 years ago. Our kids are going to be heartbroken, but knowing Sam is going to a home more suited is better than getting a call that he's been run over on 99th St.

My name is Jeff 360-737-7510

I have pictures of Sam and tried to upload them...wouldn't work. I can e-mail them to you...

Is Sam trained to hunt rabbits or other game?

Does he get along with other dogs, we have a Chihuahua.

Sam is not a hunter by my training...he has those natural instincts though and will howl when on the chase or the sniff...

He is really great with other dogs. He gets along great with other dogs and is very playfull.

Couple questions for you:

Do you have property?
Are you off the beaten path...so he can roam?

I've got the electric in ground fence...so he doesn't take off as much as he once did..but still manages to find a route around the "shock".

Like I said in the ad....I'm not looking to just get rid of Sam. I want it to be the right place for him.

Jeff,

I appreciate the information. If Sam were a hunter, this would be the ideal home. However, because he is not, this would not be the right place for him.

We are looking for an experienced or semi experienced working dog that we can take to the field, for rabbits, coons, and bobcats.

It sounds like he would make a great pet, and I am sure you will find the right person for Sam.

Regards,

Paul
