I was just talking to a buddy today about 'gills. He was saying that he was at Dorena Res. and caught a BUNCH of them. Not too bad size.

Delta ponds near Valley River Center have bluegill in them, and the ones on the east side of the road had some around that size back when I got married 17 years ago, but I haven't fished them since. I have no idea what they are running at now.

Delta ponds are alright. I caught some 6 and 7 inchers in there this year. I haven't caught a 10 inch gill since I was a teenager about 20 years ago. There's gotta be a pond around here somewhere with some big ones.

There is some ponds in the Eugene are that kick out huge blue gill and black crappie. there located out by the airport, fern ridge resevoir ,and the spill way pond by the long tom have some as well. I grew up in that area and know the area well, another spot you might try, is the amazon canal near where it connectes with fern ridge.

The pond by the airport does have some nice ones. the problem is they fenced it off a couple of years ago with a barbed wire chain linked fence. that is if you are talking about the pond right behind the airport. I fished the slough near there yesterday evening and had some little bass chase my worm but that was about it there. BTW the slough behind the airport holds some nice bass if you can get to them. I fished the kirk ponds too yesterday but i was fishing for bass. There were some decent looking gills in there but all i brought with me was some rubber worms. anyway thanks for the tips. If I get into some big gills I will let you guys know.
Kirk pond has some giant bass in it as well. The park rangers know a couple of them by name and say they are 10+ lbs apiece. There are some big sunfish in that pond as well!
