I have heard of fly fishermen having success in salt water.
Maybe no one tries in fresh water. When Coho are in a shallow run and acting aggressive a skater might work...

I've always wondered about an egg sucking leach type pattern tied with foam (or other floating materials) so it would float & skate.......Hmmmmmm.

Isn't there one certain river in AK where the Wog supposedly works?

Wogs work in all the ALASKA rivers that I have fish from the Kuskokwim, Bristol Bay, and Kenai Pennisula....
They will attack floating plugs on the surface such as Kwikfish too!!
Last week a friend and I where fishing and we caught a silver on the surface.... Of course he was reeling his eggs back in and the fish attacked it!
Seems that the fish in AK and Canada are more aggressive then the fish in the NW, however if yoru timing in correct and the fish have been left alone they are more likely to attack surface fly's...
