Am considering buying a new 2009 (or new 2008) Yamaha 6 hp via the internet from Boats .net. (Don't know where they're located) Does anyone have any experience with them or any other "on line " dealer that you could recommend.
Our main engine is is a 2003 25hp Yamaha. The boat is a 15' Smokercraft. Would also appreciate any feedback as to a method of controling both motors via some type of a connecting rod. Cabellas has an auxiliary motor conn.rod in the $30 range that looks like it would work. Any input would be very much appreciated.

I tried to buy a Yamaha T-8 on line last year and the places I contacted told me they were not allowed to ship Yamahas because the had to be un crated and tested at their shop and could only be picked up locally. They all said they could ship Merc, Honda or anything else just not Yamaha, I got tired of dealing with them and went to Browns Landing in Scapoose, I have bought my last (3) Yamaha kickers from them, cash talks and they will deal.... good luck!

Yup, theres a place back east that has screamin' deals on Yamaha and Suzuki outboards. However, they can only ship to another dealer which of course the local guys will have no part of. The prices are considerably lower than anyone in the Portland area.
