Well I have finally been able to get out and do some fishing off and on over the past few months (the house is pretty much done) and I snuck out for a few hours last night. Seemed like I drove for most of it but finally reached the spot at prime time and was fortunate enough to hook up this 7-13, my personal best. I owe it to two guys in my bass club, they put me and my buddy on the spot, so I can't tell you where it is at or they would kill me. I think they already want to because of this fish!!!

Hey man congrats on that fish! I have a hard time telling the true size from a photo, but I totally believe you. Maybe next time measure the length and girth. Hopefully you can get an even a bigger one yet this fall!

very nice bank fish . but I have to agree , it doesnt look from the pic you gave to be 7.13 , to me it looks like it, AT MOST ,could weigh about 6 -6.5 lbs . Its still avery nice fish . I have often caught fish that to me looked at least 7 lbs , and after I busted out the digital scale would end up weighing about 6 lbs, then again you might be 6'6 275 lbs and make that fish look like mini me . peace , how did ya catch it ? good job

cutemall wheres the pic ? good job toy you as well.

Bad Habit:

I'm 6' tall, a porky 220lbs. And you are probably right that it is only 6-6.5lbs. When I caught it I licked my thumb, held it up next to the fish, closed one eye, and estimated it at 7-13, give or take an ounce. Fortunately you have zapped some sense into me and I now realize that it is only, AT MOST, 6 or 6.5. Not being a member of All Star Anglers 07 I am not schooled in the ways of properly using a digital scale. It also isn't a bank fish, as we were in a small 2-man bass boat and had to go over to shore to take the pic. I thought I was using a 7" wacky rigged senko but given my propensity to over-estimate it was probably, AT MOST, a 6". But I do appreciate the "good job."

Some might think that I am over-reacting but I am going to disagree. I get called a liar a lot at work but I'm not getting paid to take it on my own personal time. I lurk a lot, love to see the pics, but this is one reason that I don't put a lot of posts on here. Most people here are great but there are more than a few that want to give out an armchair weight that they think the fish "really" is based on their "extensive" experience. Didn't we have a problem with this before? -

That was the premiere example of what I am talking about. Being a bass fisherman since I was a kid I have realized that it seems like a lot of the bass guys are the worst at this. A bunch of know-it-alls and that are the best and if someone else catches a big fish it is either complete luck or it isn't as big as they think it is. I knew we had a few here that liked to second guess and diminish, but I guess we have another.

As for this fish, we used a digital scale that we constantly compare to our club scales and is always within +/- 1 ounce. That fish was 22.5 inches long according to a tape measure that was probably purchased at Home Depot, so we don't know if we can trust it.

As for CutEMall, we have been friends since the 4th grade and he is a well renowned prankster. But I am glad he threw out his joke because it gave at least one person the "shove" they needed to throw out their armchair weight.

Even though I don't post up here a lot I will now never post another pic with a weight again. If I ever post up a pic again at all. I am not looking for validation here, just excited about a big fish and thought I would share it. Hope everyone has a good fall season with some big fish. Just remember, they really aren't as big as you think they are...

Congrats JVM. Great fish. Good Job. You beat me to the punch, it seems like we went through this before with the kid that caught the 9.2 that was verified in a tournament. Its pretty much the reason I don't post anything on this board anymore either. Too many sour grapes fisherman that sit in front of the computer and talk about fishing more than actualy going out and doing it. If your name isn't EBG you are pretty much treated like a trashbag around here. Don't let it ruin your catch, there are still some of us that go out and put our time in and realize the value of a good fish. I think its funny that the guy that questioned you the most took two days to get a limit out of the best bass lake in the state. I guess we all have our "Bad Habits" though. Flame on......

Bwaaaahhhaaaaaaa :applause::applause::applause: Great one! Congrats on such an awesome fish! You sure out-did me: I could never figure out how to outsmart one of the big ones in the summer- for the few of you that have done it (Basscaster and a few others), I am in huge admiration

Plus you know you've really accomplished something if you get some jealous remarks- that was always when I knew I had really done something great- he he

Here's to ya!

Thats a beautiful fish!!! Sometimes pics don't do us any justice. But that must of felt great pulling that big gal up and setting a new personel best! I get alot of sheet from friends too, I'll show them the pics and they'll say ,no way thats not that big. Then I show them the space on my body that the fish covers , then they know it was a big one! Any hoot great catch , now you have a new goal ..... the forever quest to beat that personel best.

I have seen pics of people holding up 1/2 lbers and calling them 1 lbers but when it comes to the bigger fish, you can't tell from a pic. That is why, even if I don't see that kind of weight there, I reserve judgement and give the benefit of the doubt. It's not important enough to make a comment and inadvertantly give the impression that I have just called someone a liar. So I just admire the big fish and wish it had been me.

BTW, that fish looks every bit of 7 + to me.

since we are on the subject of haters .who are the real haters ? I saw that someone threw rogers/ebgiude in the mix . all he does is help people , show pics, help educate etc. hes not a lurker like some of the guys who felt that they would finally bless us w/ there presence and post something. Im not a lurker either, I like to help out as much as I can , as limited as it may be . you guys that only lurk, who have much more experience than me dont ever jump on this site to help others, beginners etc. go ahead and look at the names on all the other threads posted recently, and not so recently. you will see the real contributers ,its funny to me that you real haters finally posted something and it wasnt even fishing related . some of you feel that you and your skills are to great to give away. I have been postin pics, giving advice and locations , for 2 yrs now on Ifish .and I see who is acctively contributing. its like theres this secret society of real bass fisherman that none of us beginners deserve to be blessed with there presence. instead you lurk ? Ive seen guys lookin for help and its always the same group that helps . Ive seen guys post pics, and its always the same group of people who congradulate . really there is a small group of us who are always posting or commenting . we dont lurk we help, we share , so dont believe the hype , to all the real haters who finally posted ,only to complain, who joined in on the bashing, stop lurking , start contributing. thats what this site is all about . q5 I apologize for being a killjoy and except my new title of hater.I should have been more considerate to your accomplishments , and what an accomplisment it was . Thats a Bucket! And if anyone on this board reports a weight, then that's the weight. The last think we want to do is have guys hesitate to show weighed-in trophy fish on this page. Most of us are lucky if we can fish once a week, so WE WANT HOG SHOTS!

Nice Fish. I have caught one (my P.B. also) the exact same length or it might have been 23.5 I don't remember and it weighed about the same. It was from Lacamas about 2 years ago. Fish like that get my heart going. Congrats.

yup thats a nice fish. i seen someone hold up a 6lb'er and i thought it was maybe a 3lb'r from a distance. went to watch it get weighed and it was 6.5. i know pictures dont do justice like being there when the fish are caught but we just gotta enjoy fellow fisherman catching big ones, and sharing their pictures instead of being jealous. I love seeing pictures because it lets me know that the lunkers are out there in the NW.
