Hey guys: I am going to fish near Elkton this Friday for bass. Any recent reports? Also, I am taking a few friends who are new to this and I want them to try to avoid worms. Any suggestions on what I should suggest for these guys to bring?

Why would you want them to try to avoid worms?

Worms are great! I am a catch & release guy. But from experience...I have found that about 3% to 5% take the hook too deep. We will use larger hooks to reduce the chances.

We have had better luck catching the bigger bass on artificial.

Any reports???

My kids fish the worms on a jighead they usually don't take them too deep. I prefer to fish topwater, tiny torpedoes are always productive for me.

Fished near Elkton last Friday. Weather was great at about 85. Water was higher than in the past and cooler. Fishing was so / so. We caught plenty of fish but I believe due to the cooler water the fish just were not eating as much. Each of us caught 40 to 6o fish, most 8 to 12 inches. Only a few close to 15. We did catch 13 trout (we release all fish) in one rapid.
