I took out my boat last weekend and notice that there was no water spitting out from the "pee hole". Immediately stopped the motor and only ran the kicker. I had the motor serviced about 7-8 months ago. This was the 4th time I've had it out. The previous 3 times, it was spitting out like a race horse.

Would like to avoid having to take it back and try a few trouble shooting things on my own.

Any ideas or suggestions. I've heard, there could be something in the hole clogging it. Someone suggested blowing air into it. Where do I start?

Thanks for any help!

Very likely there is an obstruction. Look inside the cowl where the black hose connects to the fitting where the water is supposed to exit. Remove that hose and run a small wire through the fitting to see if anything comes out. You may have a tee fitting, if your motor is anything like mine. Remove the hose from the tee and clear it as well.

If this doesn't do the trick, try removing your thermostat, may be stuck.I had an older motor that had the same issue and soaking the thermostat in vinegar for a few hours did the trick, but replacing it would be best.

ah Ha....figured it out. There was two nasty bugs right inside the hole. Unplugged the black hose and inside the white fitting, was two critters. Hopefully that will do it. Will run it out to Hagg Lake tomorrow.

Thanks everyone for the help and did I say I LOVE this site!

Thats funny. I was reading and figured i'd tell ya to check for spiders/bugs and u already figured it out. I had a boat with a 9.9 merc and I flushed it out and 2 giant spider nest came out. Well atleast u fixed it before it was to late.

Yellow Jackets find the hose to be the perfect size for a long nap too.
