I have a '99 Alumaweld Intruder with the stock swimstep (small) on it. I want to mount a cooler on it but am having trouble locating pictures or ideas on the best way to do it. I've already searched the archives and the old links and pictures previously posted have been removed. I want to hard mount it as oppsed to the bungee method, and preferably have it fairly easy to remove. Due to the small size of the swimstep and having a kicker next to it, one side of the cooler will have to extend over the right side of the step. :help: :anyone:

Photos or links would be helpful,

Thanks in advance

Joes sells a kit with tie downs and straps. Look over by the coolers and thremos's. I saw them on Friday at the store in Beaverton. I think there made by Coleman.

Having to cantilever your cooler is a tough one ... You could build a platform and bolt it to the swimstep ...
I use My stomp grate actuator to tie my cooler to and bought one that dosn't hang over much ...
The coleman brackets are more of a cooler isolator , heres a link to another brand ... Good Luck ...

Edit: There is now a post on the main board that has a diagram that shows this PERFECTLY.

You will need two of these and a 12" long piece of aluminum angle bracket:

Drill a hole in the outside corners along one edge of the angle bracket - the hole should be big enough that the screw from the bimini mount will fit through. Bolt the angle bracket to the cooler horizontally. Attach the bimini mounts to the holes in the angle bracket and set the cooler on the swim deck with the bracket towards the transom. Mark where the bimini mounts meet the transom and bolt/rivet the mounts to the transom. You now have a cooler mount that holds the cooler securely but allows the cooler to be removed by taking out two screws.

Sorry I don't have a pic for you, but it will become obvious when you put the pieces together.
