Picked the engine up on friday fresh out of the crate it was shipped in and headed for the lake...cold and SUPER windy for 3 days. took it out twice when I could to break it in, but while doing so by myself i had no weight in the front and when steering from the back I get water coming over my transom and into the little hole where my power cables and steering cable come out/ go in. WOOPS! I asked at my 2 local marinas about the steering accessory to hook it to my big outboard, but both models they have only work if the kicker is on the passenger (port?) side of the boat. They told me I could "modify it somehow", but I would rather just buy one that fits perfect. Any ideas or info. on how to or where to purchase one would be greatfully appriciated....:D p.s. the engine ran great even with the boat sinking.

I posted some pictures in a thread a while back. this setup is far more easy to use than an ez steer. Lnik to the thread.

I friend of mine has his kicker on the starboard side of the boat. He ended up buying a troll master from Cabelas. Works really slick. His TR-1 crapped out and he likes the troll master better. Cheaper to.

Bullshooter, as I mentioned in your link back then, I have the same set-up and it works great. It can be engaged and disengaged in 10 seconds from the inside of the boat.
Kinda makes the ez steer look not so easy.
I have the same set-up that Bullshooter and fish-on-bend have. It is simple and works well. :D

I also have a set-up like BUllshooter and fish-on-bend have, couldn't be happier with it!

I have the EZ Steer and love it.
I have my kicker mounted on a bracket that I have to raise and lower and there's no way I could do that or raise either motor independantly without the sliding function the EZ Steer bars provide.
Neat design and very nice people running that company. I bought a used one off a guy on another forum and when I got it it was broken. I called EZ Steer and they had me send it to them, they fixed it, sent it back and didn't charge me for anything, not even the return shipping! They said it was warrantied for life, even if I wasn't the original purchaser.
